Another 2004 Record?

#1 Postby Sanibel » Sat Sep 25, 2004 10:37 pm

This is absolutely amazing. A similar hint of WSW jog prior to landfall in exactly the same place as Frances.

This must be yet another 2004 record in a year of records...

Maybe we will find out from a non-troll post if it was a record or not...

So if you are wrong blatantly wrong about something that you were so sure about & it gets called to your attention that make me a troll..Then you need not to post your thoughts on a public board if you cannot take critism for it.Or do a little more homework before you post about something that you believe in so vividly such as was this so called recurve of your just because it went north of due west.Everyone here must be a troll because not a 1 person found any merit in your recurve theory.

While I'm sure Sanibel can defend himself, I believe his viewpoints throughout this entire season have been quite informative and thought provoking. His opinions and insight have resulted in many threads that brought a whole lot of education to a whole lot of people.

Going back to 1875 I cannot find any year where Flroida was impacted by 4 cat 2+ hurricanes, another feather in 2004 cap.

Brain Norcross just said:

Frances made landfall at 27.2 N, 80.2 W.
Jeanne made landfall at 27.2 N, 80.2 W.

COMPLETELY AMAZING!

While I'll admit the west veer prior to landfall was not in my prediction, I doubt some of my critics could define what exactly recurve is and what its parameters are.

My question about the record was mainly whether 2 storms landfalled so close to each other ever in the same season...

I don't think any two storms have in the history of Atlantic storms.
