Damage will be much more than typical cat 3

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Because it's going over the same area with buildings already damaged from Frances a few weeks ago (many buildings have tarps on their roofs), there will unfortunately be some catastrophic roof collapses.

Sebastian and points just north are getting no relief at all. I agree - damage will be quite extensive. Probably compounded by the fact that this is the first major to hit this area in - how long? Would it be safe to say that this area has ever seen the likes of this before?

Does anybody know offhand the latest damage estimates (in dollars) that Charley caused? I saw a couple of the hard hit communities afterwards, but was the damage widespread?
