looks like it too from KMLB, but it could just be the eye collapsing.

WNW but eye looks like it will come right over Tampa. I guess we'll be getting 75 mph sustained here shortly. We'll see how long I can keep power. Hope surge isn't a problem like it was with Frances.

Well Caneman once the eye of Jeanne gets to your north and the south winds blow up Tampa Bay I'm afraid you will get some surge.....MGC

Yeah, I couldn't believe how much Frances affected the BAy. At the approach of Frances it sucked water out of the Bay. PEople were actually walking out well into the Bay where there normally would be water. And then Downtown Tampa had flooding at least 3 blocks inland alond with SHore Acres and Snell isle in St. PEte. God forbid when a Cat. 3 +hits the Bay again head on.

look at the satellite loop and see what you think. It is hard to see the center of the eye on radar, it was apparently further south than it looked coming into the east coast. (or something like that)

Last couple of SAT images and radar imagery also appear to be slowing Jeanne down some ... another indication that Jeanne maybe beginning to turn ...

Overlay the Forecast Plots and Jeanne is now right of the TPC guidance

I was refering to a post the other day about this not making it into the Gulf. However its moving very slowly North. Its not a pure WNW motion yet.

No turn indicated would mean a position south of Tampa later today. The turn has been evident, in the last several hours.

It's been moving WNW for the past few hours. Storms don't just turn on a dime, turns are gradual.
