Yep. Will miss Tampa bay, but where will it go on the coast? Towards the Panhandle, or north?

That's not a good sign. Perhaps it's a wobble just as much as the north one was. Of course, wobbles matter too, and it wouldn't take much of a wobble to put it back over the Gulf. Sure, water temps. are almost too cool for re-organization, but just the lack of friction from land could help preserve the center longer before it makes its appearance here in the Big Bend.

It'll do a 180 over the gulf and then make landfall on the west coast...

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p ... ktbw.shtml ....Here's a close-up. I do believe the system will make it into the Gulf of Mexico. Not that it matters, but, I was reluctant to respond to any posts about the system not making it into the Gulf. I've believed that it would since last night. I don't think it will go far out into the Gulf...but, it could go far enough West to cause nasty weather all the way to Appalachicola, IMO...

They had it coming out at Brooksville but think it will be NeW Port Richey. POwer is flickering big time now nearly every 15 seconds hope it can hold for 2 or 3 more hours.

I don't think we'll see much more westward movement out of jeanne. The longer it stays over land, the quicker it will die and if it is in the process of recurving, it should pick up speed fairly quickly.

Think it MAY... MAY being the key word...have a chance to go into the gulf still....barely. Looks like it still has some westward motion still.... but then again I have been staring at radar loops so much the past 24 hours my eyes may be crossing LOL

Yep....it looks like it will stay out of the Gulf. Hopefully, Jeanne will weaken greatly quickly..Florida has taking a complete soaking today!

I thought the GFS was on a bit of crack this morning when it showed Jeanne heading toward Gainesville, and here it is Sunday evening and she is poised to pass just west of there. Amazing turn today. This morning she looked to be on a beeline to Tampa.

From 11 am to 5 pm, Jeanne has been moving more towards the NNW ... 0.9ºN, 0.6ºW ... and looks like it'll miss the GOM. Jeanne continues to run just to the right of TPC guidance ...

Last night it ran left of TPC preshore. The average is a straight recurve. Some were asserting the turning features were still 1000 miles from Jeanne...
