WHAT A WINTER STORM in St Pete

#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Sun Sep 26, 2004 12:12 pm

Light Snow and Windy

NULL Humidity: NA
Wind Speed: NW 48 G 64 MPH
Barometer: 29.11" (985.9 mb)
Dewpoint: NA
Visibility: 1.00 mi.

A winter storm warning is in effect for St Pete, Florida meaning winter storm conditions are expected during the next 24 hours. J/K. It's too hilarious though, I can't help myself but say that, LOL

That's a frigid feeling, it better not be 33 degrees there.

I still can't get over that. Why are they seeing a winter storm in st pete??? hehehhe Must be a micro climate issue with the weather station, hehehe.

its funny though...having been out in the peak of frances and jeanne in fll and palm beach the wind driven rain reminds you of a blizzard. low visibilty and a wind chill...it was COLD in frances up in palm beach..combo of being wet and winds and rain. the blizzard of 79 comes to mind when we had 39 inches of snow and had to get on the roof and shovel the snow off so the doors in the house would close there was so much stress on the frame and beleive me when i tell you that was not a cheap house my parents had.

The trees around Pinellas county have lost a lot of their leaves so it might as well be winter. The big northeasters up in New England produce winds almost this strong.

I looked for trees down but nithing yet, I think Frances got the ones in my direct area that were to be had. Of course, local guy- Dennis Phillips said that coast areas in WEst Ppinellas will be in for the worst of it for next 2 or 3 hours as the winds come in uninterrupted and strengthen as they tap the Gulf. Expects lots of trees down and screened room damage.

Hillarious... Maybe it's wishful thinking? If they forecast snow for St. Pete, it must mean Hurricane season is OVER!!!!!
