Update on my areas conditions

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sun Sep 26, 2004 5:53 pm

I wanted to let you guys know I'm doing OK tonight. My winds didn't appear to cause too much damage here. But I won't be going home till at least tomorrow so I'll let you know how things were there..

Early reports say the top gust here was only about 81 mph. I don't entirely buy that because this morning we got hammered..

But I'm OK and can now safely say I survived yet another 1 it appears

If the anenometer hasn't failed, 81 mph is probably correct for that location (not saying that your winds could have been higher), but amazingly you still have power it seems ...

but with an 81 mph wind gust, quite a bit of damage can occur with those types of winds ... so, hopefully, with your reports that a not a lot of apparent damage around your area, seems about right ...

Yeah SF.. I thought gusts were actually a little higher.. But 81 is definitely strong in itself..

Well Mary..I was up all of last night.. and I could have sworn some of the gusts reached near triple digits it seemed..

However damage {so far} appears minimal around here. Maybe tomorrow I'll peak around and see what else occured
