Of what year? I think we have had enough to last through about 2010.

Doc - you're losing it! LOL!!

Unfortunately, that report actually read...

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH DECEMBER 31st...whcih means there'll surely be 3-4 named storms in the next two weeks!!!

Reminds me of when Denis, the Tampa ABC met, started losing it this morning -- he said something like, 'We're confident Jeanne will such-and-such...so that means it's going to turn due south...Just Kidding!!'

...too funny...

Have to love Denis Phillips, he is definetly the most entertaining Met for the area...when the nhc had her turn marked at 11pm advisory he blatently said "this thing is going Due West, and Ill say it for the 1million and 6th time they need to adjust the track even more west..." Cut to don germaise (sp) who to prove the pelting rain hurts faces the direction of the rain and looks like it nearly brought tears to his eyes....love abcactionnews during weather discussions..little hype lots of humor

I'd put my money on more tropical storm formation in the next month.

Remember... when Dr. Grays' prdictions came out earlier in the year, it predicted October as the most active month. (At least this is what I heard on the local news...I have not verified.)

Season doesnt end til Nov 30th.

& then there is always next season.

You guys do plan on being alive next year right.

Hurricanes are'nt going anywhere anytime soon so enjoy your winter & spring & prepare to do this all over again next year. Its part of living on Earth.

Orangeglow.. They want a break from chaos. If we get another tropical cyclone in Florida the media will go into a frenzy.. people will rethink their summer vacations, people might move out of state. Some people won't be able to cope with the stress of storm damage and clean up.

Thats my whole point in my post.

People feeling inconvenienced or shocked by hurricanes hitting Florida is like people feeling inconvenienced or shocked by cold & snow in Canada.

There both inevitable.

An illogical comparison. Cold and snow is ubiquitous in Canada every year and snow and cold persists for months on end without letup.

Major landfalling storms in FL that end up affecting the entire state do not occur every year, and they only persist for short periods of time each time one hits. We had a hurricane here yesterday and the sun is shining today.

People who live in Florida don't deserve to be hectored to suck it up, especially right now. If you're going to wag your finger, I suggest you do it elsewhere.

Sorry..I've lived here for 25 years...
Only seen 4 doozy TS (Kieth 88, Gordon 94, Frances 04) and now 4 real 'canes in Central FL. David 79, Erin 95, Charley 04, Jeanne 04. Weak Gabrielle 01.
Same goes for hubby, who grew up here (50 years), neighbor 75 years..they only remember this year as wildest ever.
So I have to say, hurricanes have never been considered high on list of negatives for living here..maybe like snow in Atlanta, Georgia.
