WOW, Got our power back already!!

#1 Postby bosag » Sun Sep 26, 2004 7:15 pm

What an experience last nite, we did lose our ceiling to the addition in the back of the house but otherwise all is well. We had flooding in that room also, so dh got the idea of removing the toilet in the bathroom next to it and sweeping the water into it. It worked.

anyway, alive and well

Welcome back Barb. Sorry to hear about your damages, but at least you are safe and sound. :D

Power on most everywhere in Jupiter

#5 Postby bwslaw » Sun Sep 26, 2004 7:37 pm

The power seems to be back on in most of Jupiter. There are some gas stations open and even RJ Gators is open tonight. Unbelievable. What a quick recovery by FPL

FPL must have felt sorry for our neighborhood as we were without power for 11 days after Frances. I was out only 15 hours this time. Damage is pretty bad up and down the Treasure Coast. It will be a long, long time before things are back to "normal" for a lot of people.

I can't believe we have power already ... I have to tell you, that was one of the worst things I have ever lived through. As a lesson, Jupiter was in the SW, S and SE eyewall with no break for about 6 hours. We (wife, myself and 2-year old) in the master bathroom ... it was a total nightmare, and anyone who wishcasts (sorry for that word), a storm to their location, please think again ...
