Need advice regarding Lisa
I am in a quandry. Homeowner's policies in NC are now excluding wind and forcing coastal residents to participate in a "beach" policy that covers wind damage only. My current homeowner's policy expires on Sept. 30. The group managing the beach policies has been refusing to write new policies for weeks now, until all "threats" are gone. My only hope is that Lisa curves out to sea now, but I am not very confident in the forecasts. What is everyone's gut instinct on what Lisa will do? My insurance agency is offering me a very expensive extension of my current homeowner's policy until the beach policy agency lifts its restriction. But, they are draining my funds dry as it is, and I'm not sure if I should roll the dice and just wait for the beach policy, whenever they decide to lift the restriction, or if that would be stupid. What a hurricane season....... I know this is an extremely small problem compared to everything Florida and Alabama residents have been through. Hope no one is offended.

Go to TD13 at menu and look at the grafic of all the models and you will see that the US will not be threatened by Lisa only a threat to shipping lanes.

Wish I had more options, but the wind policy is kind of like FEMA flood insurance. There's only one place to buy it in NC, that I can find at any rate. The state of NC has mandated that all the insurance companies in NC participate is some sort of "group" that then issues these "beach" policies. I haven't had any luck trying to find new homeowner's insurance since the Bertha/Fran year here in NC. I think I'll cross my fingers and hope Lisa goes far enough away that she can't be listed as a "threat" on Sept. 30. Thanks for the advice! I didn't like the NHC saying there wasn't much confidence in their forecast in the 5AM discussion.
