Tropical Storm Jeanne Forecast/Advisory Number 56

Statement as of 15:00Z on September 27, 2004

at 11 am EDT...1500z...the Tropical Storm Warning from Anclote key
to Apalachicola Florida is discontinued.

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect from Flagler Beach
Florida to South Santee River South Carolina.

Tropical storm center located near 31.6n 83.9w at 27/1500z
position accurate within 20 nm

present movement toward the north or 360 degrees at 10 kt

estimated minimum central pressure 988 mb
Max sustained winds 35 kt with gusts to 45 kt.
12 ft seas..300ne 275se 180sw 0nw.
Winds and seas vary greatly in each quadrant. Radii in nautical
miles are the largest radii expected anywhere in that quadrant.

Repeat...center located near 31.6n 83.9w at 27/1500z
at 27/1200z center was located near 31.1n 83.9w

Didn't they have her re-energizing when she leaves NC? I thought I saw an "S" out there.

...JEANNE BARELY A TROPICAL STORM...LIKELY TO BECOME A DEPRESSION IN
A FEW HOURS...

AT 11 AM EDT...1500Z...THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING FROM ANCLOTE KEY
TO APALACHICOLA FLORIDA IS DISCONTINUED.

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FLAGLER BEACH
FLORIDA TO SOUTH SANTEE RIVER SOUTH CAROLINA.

AT 11 AM EDT...1500Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM JEANNE WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 31.6 NORTH... LONGITUDE 83.9 WEST OR ABOUT 15
MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF ALBANY GEORGIA.

JEANNE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 12 MPH...AND A TURN TO THE
NORTH-NORTHEAST IS EXPECTED LATER TODAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
JEANNE IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN TO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION THIS
AFTERNOON.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 200 MILES FROM THE
CENTER...MAINLY OVER WATER.

ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 988 MB...29.18 INCHES.

STORM SURGE FLOODING ALONG THE GULF AND ATLANTIC COASTS SHOULD
GRADUALLY SUBSIDE TODAY.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL TOTALS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES...WITH ISOLATED HIGHER
AMOUNTS...ARE POSSIBLE IN ASSOCIATION WITH JEANNE.

ISOLATED TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE FROM EXTREME EASTERN GEORGIA
NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH SOUTHERN NORTH CAROLINA TODAY.
