We lost power at 6am Sunday. Still not restored as of 11am Monday.
We were about 30-40 miles west of the eye of Jeanne as it passed through Polk county. We had some hefty winds from the north (radio reported e reporting 60-70 mph in our area.
The hardest hit of the storm was after the winds turned around to the west. My neighborhood took MINOR damage (after all - its all relative!). Fences down, huge trees down, houses losing shingles, loos debris flying around, etc.
Then we had another round of winds from the southwest from 5-10pm. Not as bad as the western winds, but still enough to blow limbs and branches around.
All in all - we fared well. Neighbors on both sides and across the street have roof damage. Not me <grin>. Of our 9 palm trees, 5 are damaged, but all except 1 will probably recover.
We were VERY lucky in my opinion!

We lost power at 11:00 a.m. and didn't get it back 'till midnight.
Feel totally grateful that we got it back at all.
Dive shop in Indian Rocks had it's doors blown out and flat roof blown off.
Lots of other roofing material littered Gulf Blvd from Indian Rocks to Indian Shores. Not a lot of signs blown down, but rather blown out.
Looking off our dock at our neighbors across the bay, the water level was about 1/2 foot from the seawall caps, but the waves were crashing into the yards.
Beaches got the worst of it. They did report 75 to 80 mph gusts at the beach. I did lose another tree. Sure glad I invested on that chainsaw. Not as many trees down as with Jeanne cause I think she finished the weaker and frail ones. Lots of sign damage, awnings, etc.... Jeannes winds were stronger but at least she didn't stick around as long as Frances did.

I have power at home and in the office, but when I stopped off at my favorite convenience store a while ago, there are about twenty businesses in a row on Highland Ave. that have no power. Also the Publix on that road is not selling perishables because they have very limited power, it's half dark in there.
