Well, it's also a good thing election day is not on November 5 as it sometimes falls. . . .

;-)

Florida could be recounted again and again and again and again

O.K. you guys (and gals). Don't you think we've suffered enough down here. Now you are added insult to injury!!! Despite myths to the contrary, we're not all bozos in the Sunshine State. Some of us can even count without using our fingers and toes. And the inbred theory is highly over rated.

I'm from Louisiana and sometimes you just can't get away from that negative viewpoint - all it takes is one faux paux. . .

I got your back, Lynn. I've got family in FL, so I don't want 'em insulted either!! They've done Charley, Frances and Jeanne, so they deserve a break!!

Really, people from FL DO know how to read, write and do 'rithmetic. They just have trouble with butter-fly ballots!

I can see I'm not getting any Fl backing so thanks to my neighbors to the north who understand that voting can be a tricky business (I'll be sure to take my abacus to the polls!)

Oh, that was SO wrong. Ugly, ugly, ugly of you to think!

But hey...forgive me that one. I'm sitting here getting (non-existent) rain and wind from Jeanne. Ya know....the stuff everyone said ATL wasn't going to get. This (non-existen) wind and rain has been going on for hours....and, well, I'm kinda over it.

So...I wasn't really paying attention to how I phrased that. Big deal. What's the worst that can happen to me? You gonna send the "M" name after me after he hits FL? Go for it....another notch on my belt (pun intended).

Well, praise the Lord! Lucky you! You won't be walking around with the most despised male name in all of 2004. It'll be thousands of other poor "M"-named sap(s).

Glad I could make you laugh. Enjoy it now while you can.

If you get what we got from Jeanne (and it admittedly is nothing compared to what FL got), you won't be laughing by this time tomorrow night. You'll be sick of weather "remnants", and a bit grouchy.

Keep us posted on how it goes in SC & Good Luck!!

In regards to continuous rain, it hasn't occurred. FWIW, though with any heavy cell or rainband comes through, rainfall rates have generally been ranging from 1"-2" PER HOUR ... the N/S oriented band that has set up in the Midlands and into Colleton and Upper Dorchester County are easily producing rates of 2"-3" per hour, so I can sympathize ... I actually wouldn't mind getting one last band since this is the first rainfalls since even before Ivan passed well west of here (no rainfall recorded) ...
