Ok. When a Wind Watch/Advisory/Warning says you should secure things around your house, what does that mean?
Does that mean put your (absolutely FULL) trash can on the street at 7:00pm during the middle of the remnants of a former Hurricane known as Jeanne? NO.
I know tomorrow is pick-up day, but, my gosh....can't people just put them out in the AM?
I just went outside in blustery winds and rain and spent 20 minutes chasing down my neighbor's blowing garbage to get it out of my yard. I put it back in their can, and then turned their can upside down and put it next to their car, parked next to their house.
They don't have a garage, like the rest of us do in our subdivision (been converted to a room)...but they've got a huge dad-gum shed in their backyard. That's where their smelly best should have been until early AM.
WHAT is the problem people? PUT YOUR STUFF AWAY so we don't have to scoop up your kid's cruddy diapers out of our yards.
/end rant.

Hey. What a great idea. Except that I have 10 year old, and have changed somewhere around 40,000 diapers while they were still in diapers. I try to handle those porta-potties as little as possible these days.
Now, if those idiots put their can back out on the curb before tomorrow morning--and I find dirty diapers in my yard again, I will absolutely positively put one the handle of the front-door. Kind of a subtle reminder to them to be neighborly.
What really irks me is I'm sure they haven't even noticed where their can is, or where it WAS.
But, I feel better having vented.
