Atlanta Flooding

#1 Postby tedryan » Mon Sep 27, 2004 9:40 pm

I looked for this topic but did not see it.

Jeanne has dumped a ton of rain on Atlanta again. This one was supposed to track to our south east, leaving us on the weaker western side with an inch of rain. Instead, I have over 5 in the rain gauge and we are flooding again. For some reason, the feeder bands trained over ATL since 2 pm. It is 10:36 and still in the yellow on the radar.

Peachtree Creek, Nancy Creek and the Chattahoochee are all just about to hit Ivan levels. It was so sad to see all the sofas and fruniture out on the street after the Ivan, and here we go again.

Oddly, it looks like the metro area is getting the worst of it.

Official projection is that the Chatt will crest 5 inches below Ivan.

Wow, I am sick of rain. At least the winds were not that bad this time, I still have power!

Yep. Don't make reservations at Canoe for dinner this weekend...or plan to ride the Scream Machine either.

Looks like we're back to square one with flooding from all the (non-existent) rain we didn't get, and that wasn't supposed to happen according to all our Mets up here.
