Hmmm.... Cape Verde not over.....

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

SNIP.... from 2 p.m. NHC Disc:

TROPICAL ATLANTIC...
NUMEROUS UPPER LEVEL CIRCULATIONS ARE OVER W AFRICA AND THE
TROPICAL ATLANTIC MAKING SOME AREAS MORE CONDUCIVE FOR TROPICAL
ACTIVITY THEN OTHERS.

Again? You can't turn your back for one second this year.

Things are starting to get less favourable out now, so don't count on much else going on out there after the next couple of weeks. Having said that, Nicholas formed out in the Atlantic on October 13th last year.

Yes, James, we have had some late Cape Verde storms. Wouldn't count anything out this season!

Yea we might get some systems, but I doubt they'll make it all the way across with all the troughs.

Code: Select all

IT
APPEARS THAT THE CAPE VERDE SEASON HAS SHUT DOWN FOR NOW WITH A
LARGE UPPER LOW NEAR 20N29W STRETCHING A TROUGH SOUTH TO
10N30W.  THIS FEATURE IS CAUSING STRONG SHEAR IN THE EASTERN
ATLANTIC WITH LITTLE CHANCE OF TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT.

But a big trough is in the eastern atlantic now so no chance.dixie dont be impressed by the colors of convection but look at the upper levels to see how the upper pattern is and now it is hostil.

Yes John cape verde season for all effects is over but any given tropical wave can move from the hostil east atlantic and develop just east of the islands.

It'd be very unlikely but if the trough stays in place, one could pull an Ivan an slip far enough south to be slung westward and survive... But its very very unlikely.

Yes another Jose type formation can happen as waters are still very warm west of 50w.
