Stick a fork on the Cape Verde season, look elsewhere

#1 Postby cycloneye » Tue Sep 28, 2004 7:16 pm

Code: Select all

TROPICAL ATLANTIC...
MID/UPPER HIGH NEAR 18N49W AND MID/UPPER LOW NEAR 19N31W ARE THE
MAIN FEATURES IN THE BASIN.  GENERALLY DRY AIR IN THE MID/UPPER
LEVELS IS W OF 40W WITH THE ONLY WEATHER NEAR THE ITCZ AND A
TROPICAL WAVE.  ENHANCING MOISTURE IS E OF THE UPPER LOW INTO W
AFRICA THOUGH UPPER WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL
GENESIS.  COMPUTER MODELS SUGGEST INCREASING SHEAR OVER THE
TROPICAL ATLC DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS... PERHAPS ENDING THE
RECENT OUTBURST OF TROPICAL CYCLONE ACTIVITY.

The above from the 8 PM discussion

Folks conditions are very hostil now so by all effects the cape verde season is over for 2004 but what a very active season it was with the majority of the systems comming and forming from the Cape Verde region as longtrackers. But we wont see another one of those this season and now our watching has to shift to the western caribbean,GOM and in less extent the western atlantic and maybe west of 50w.

Amen to that. Cape Verde season has been so unforgiving this year.

I'll take no more CV storms for the moment.

I'm just hoping for one quiet weekend!
