Come this is a weather board!!! Something seems to be brewing in the BOC does anyone have any thoughts? Does anyone think it could develop?

Well we are entering that time of year when we have to GOM for potential development. Maybe if it persists for another 1-2 days or so then we might have to really really concern ourselves with it. Interesting watch though.

Even though there's lots of warm water, the BOC is a pretty tough place for meaningful development to occur - just too much land too close.

I'd say the western Caribbean is the place to watch after this weekend.

It sure seems there are many people out there who seem to be having withdrawal symtpons since there are no active storms? I, for one, am enjoying not having a different relative call me every 10 minutes to see if anything has changed.

we've been trying to get people interested in the BOC and western caribbean for two days now. I think folks are just shell-shocked right now.

i know i need a break and i dont live in south or central florida. i might go to alaska for the long weekend; take my husband fishing for his birthday or something up there.

Give it a few more days and people will begin to watch the GOM and Western Carib. October is just around the corner anyways.

Hey there, and welcome to the board. Unlike other weather boards, this ones does not generally get excited about low key activity... at least not once the real action begins.

Welcome to the board. The front that will be moving into the area should limit development along with that tutt low to its east for the next couple of days.

My thought on the BOC is that tropical development is fairly rare there (on average only a couple storms a decade) and people generally spend far too much time staring at it :-)

Yes it is a good thing that only a couple form a decade I would hate to see an every year event.

I'm along the GOM and always keep my eyes on it. Not seeing much though for a while it seems. 8-)

See now i thought the BOC was a hot spot for development. Oh well both areas need to be watched. i guess i'm having withdrawls..

Well, 'tis the time of the season to monitor those areas, especially the Carribean.

Right now I'm more interested in the 1030 mb high moving in from Canada over the weekend. Nice, calm, cool weather. Very nice. :tailgate:
