The season on DVD

#1 Postby hurricanetrack » Wed Sep 29, 2004 8:10 pm

Just a note- yes it's an ad too- that HurricaneTrack.com is producing its first DVD/VHS of the 2004 hurricane season as seen through our eyes.

I am working on getting licensing rights to use some great music from composers like Hans Zimmer as the background for some of the chapters.

The video will be ~90 minutes and will begin in Frbruary when Jesse and I visited the NHC for an award we were given- and then met with Max Mayfield.

From there- it jumps to April's National Hurricane Confernece- we have some chilling video of Dr. Bill Gray and Chris Landsea saying over and over again that Florida's luck has run out. Wait until you see THAT!

Then- we move on to August 2nd when we departed for Hatteras for Alex. Then, it rolls on and on through Bonnie, Charley, Frances, Gaston, Ivan and Jeanne. I like to use timpe lapse in my videos so this will be a cool feature you won't see too many other places.

I will host the video and narrate it as well. The video will be from Jesse and me and should be some of the best overall video of the combined hurricanes that you will see.

I take great pride in my work and plan to spend about 10 hours a day for the next month editing this piece. It will even include hilarious outtakes from some of our work. I call them "cane-bloopers". I'll put some in from prior years too.

Check out our homepage to learn more and see a sneak preview.

Good job on this site keeping people informed. Storm2K has definitely arrived!

Are you going to produce it now, or wait until the end of the season? Because the way things have gone...

Count me in for an order, btw.

Yes- it has video from every landfall this season except the 2nd landfalls of Charley, Frances and Ivan. We could not get to the 2nd landfalls- but we have video from everything else. Stuff you have not seen on TV.

I just realized that there can be major hurricanes after Nov. 1. Perhaps a 2nd edition may have to be in order?

DVD cost etc.

#14 Postby hurricanetrack » Thu Sep 30, 2004 12:13 am

The cost for either DVD or VHS is 18.95 and this INCLUDES shipping.

I will put some satellite loops on it as well as radar pics. Most of the video will be our fist-hand video and narration by yours truly. It will include some cool video of the NHC back in Feb when we began our season's work. From there- chilling video of the sooth-sayers in Orlando during the National Hurricane Conference. Oh, how they knew what they were talking about.....

I am soooo looking forward to this. Hope it's ready for Christmas! They also sell cool posters.

If you guys haven't seen their Charley video, you're in for a wild ride. :coaster: It's unlike anything you've ever seen.

Mark, you and your team rock!

Forgive the question but will it only ship to the United States or can it be shipped worldwide?
