Scoring a generator!

#1 Postby ladygatorslayer » Fri Oct 01, 2004 12:17 pm

Want to let people know that it is possible.

My friend lives in Polk and TECO told them yesterday that they are in the 10% grid that might not have power for 2 weeks.

They had already been to every pawn shop in their area looking for one. Family in J'VIlle was calling around. Seemed pretty hopeless.

After calling all the Lowes, Home Depots, etc. in numerous areas, and of course, gettting the "No" response when asking about one, I decided to look in the newspaper classifieds.

The Lakeland Ledger didn't have any. But the Tampa Tribune and St. Pete times did.

Called first thing this morning and they drove to Redington Beach and picked one up. The man used it for 2 days, paid $530, sold it for $400, and even gave them the original reciept and the warranty information which is good for 5 years.

That's a nice gesture of the original owner.
Hope he doesn't need it back.
We loaned ours to a co-woorker in Lake county on Monday.
I think he still needs it.
