That does mean she will be a hurricane, but it all depends if the national hurricane center wants to upgraded her or not.

Yes 4.0/4.0=65 knots which is a hurricane...In which case the nhc is forced to upgrade. Or play there game!(Or unlease data other data states other wise)

By looking on visible and infrared it does look like she is a hurricane, but should become a non tropical system in the next 24 hours and she will be entering cooler waters if not already.

Come on little buddy! She has made sooo many attempts to become a hurricane, and it would be great if it became one now, over very cool waters and far north.

18z Runs have Hurricane Lisa now at 65kts. Will probably be upgraded at 5pm.

From the satellite spin it looked like one yesterday. I suppose they are estimating it (ship reports?) I thought 990 was kind of low for a non-hurricane...

History repeats itself again with Lisa.

1998 saw the system named Lisa take almost the same track and become a hurricane over the extreme north Atlantic Ocean just before becoming extratropical.

Ironic...
