Most people don't know that.....
I'm a nature nut. I've been called Mother Nature and Elly Mae. I spend all this money on plants to attract hummingbirds that don't nest this far south.
I bring butterfly caterpillars in the house so they won't get eaten.I feed the birds and squirels. I even buy ladybugs to release to eat aphids. Animal abuse fires me up.

Have created a number of computer games - mostly word games and card games. I even sold a half-dozen of them to a computer games company. If you have ever seen the "Galaxy of Games" CD-ROM's (for Windows), then you may have seen one of the games I created.
I actually know the CD-Rom you're talking about. My father/stepmother have that CD-Rom
StormCrazyIowan (Jacki) - I need you to learn a song for me (Evanescence-Bring me To Life) so we can sing that together!...

I enjoy home improvement projects, outdoor projects and bowling.
My number one priority is family. I volunteer for a local agency that deals with alzheimers patients. My mother has alzheimers, and it is the best way for me to deal with it.
I can lend a little support for families, especially when their loved one can no longer remember who they are. I remember when this happened to my mom.
I do what I can, however little it may be.

I like to draw houseplans, just for fun. My dad was a Carpenter by trade and my brother went into drafting. Also my dad built 4 of the houses we lived in while I was growing up. So blueprints were always scattered about. I began drawing plans when I was little. Should have gone into Drafting I guess......I even buy houseplan books and just flipping thru the pages is relaxing to me. I play that what if game - what if I won the lotto, what my dream home would be, etc. My mom saved my early plans, they're quite funny to see again. When I was a teen every home I "designed" had a built in phone booth. Wonder why? LOL My dad (gone now, rest his soul) loved my phone booth idea the best. And every home had a pool out back. As I said I still draw plans, just for relaxation. I even have the drafting board and T square my dad built me packed away. Ah, the memories.....

J - just read your reply. I love cats too.....but you hate dogs? Reminds me of that Friends episode when Chandler reveals he doesn't like dogs. Everyone is shocked! Usually you hear people say they don't like cats (which I get really mad at, major cat lover here) but most people like dogs. Always knew there was something different about ya....j/k!!!!

This thread...
This thread will be a source for all kinds of future questions, discussions, and comments...points of interest among other members.
Magicians, house plan designers, woodworkers, drag racers, artists, dancers, weapon collectors, musicians, game designers, sportscasters, prose readers...what a wonderful combination of talents and personalities!
And that's just to name a few!
How's this addition? Most people don't know that I ran for mayor of my hometown in Illinois, losing 1170 to 773 in 1982. My next door neighbor won the election, served his term, and committed suicide soonafter. Most people also don't know that I thank God every day that I did not win!

Streetsoldier....
Most people don't know, sir, that you are not only a collector of such weaponry, but that your appreciation of history and mastery of language provided your students a wonderful opportunity when you were teaching..and still provides us today the opportunity to continue learning from you.

streetsoldier... I have just met you while coming to storm2k and am honored, believe me.
I had always thought to myself that you must be a teacher of history. When I see a serious thread started here and I see where you have replied, I immediately know I will get the true facts of the situation out of your posts. I can just imagine how your students felt when they came to your class each day. I always doubted my history teacher and would find myself in the library every afternoon "referencing."
