So, it will be getting dark in your area in the next couple of hours? If conditions deteriorate badly, you're right...it will be a long night.

Suggest you have a nice warm dinner, have a bath, put your "jammies" on...and settle in for some "fun". Well, as much fun as one can have with one of these "remnant" systems.

Luckly I'm in the east so the worst of the weather should arrive tommorow morning, with driving rain and gales.

while right now the west is getting some rather torrential like rain.

Excellent! Keep us updated...as you're right. We're in a lull. No storms (knock wood).

Rapid deepening? We've been caught out by that before (1987). How are things over in your area now KWT?

Dull to sum it up,the winds slowly picking up.

I'm afraid that this system is about to deepen dramitcally soon,Convection is to the west side of Lisa,as it's dragging in much colder air meaning that the potenial for sudden deepening is there, not to mention there is now also another LP system over Wales that has just formed, which is giving Wales a pasting to say the least.

the Met office have now gave out a severe weather warning, related to the heavy rain I was mentioning in Wales:

Heavy Rain
Affecting Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Isle Of Anglesey, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Rhondda, Cynon, Taff, Swansea, The Vale Of Glamorgan, Torfaen & Wrexham
Outbreaks of heavy rain are likely to continue for much of the evening and night, leading to significant accumulations in places. This is likely to lead to some dangerous driving conditions, with local flooding possible. The rain will be accompanied by strengthening winds, gusts perhaps up to 50-60 mph later.

The wind is picking up here, and there has been light rain falling for about an hour. From the sound of these weather warnings the worst may hang around for the morning rush hour.

things are certainly going to get intresting,I just hope that this system doesn't gert suddenly deeper in the next few hours,as theres a decent chance that that may happen.

Bad news guys, lisa is currently Absorbing the LP infront of it,meaning Lisa may now deepening rapidly as I first thought, now it all depends on wether all the ingrediants are there for it now.

It was a bit breezy last night, with a bit of rain.* Shame I didn't have internet access at the time. :(

*This is my way of saying fairly windy with heavy rain.

For about 10 minutes this morning we had some strong winds and very heavy rain, but that was about it. I might have slept through some stormy weather last night, though.

The heavy rain in Reading started around 1:30am so you may well have missed it there.

My weather station measured some gusts in the vicinity of around 20mph at around 8:00am during a particularly stormy period, but it recorded some higher gusts during the night. I forget exactly what they were but they were approaching 30mph.

Looks like London didn't get strong tropical storm force winds like other places.
