hurricane damage....not Disney

#1 Postby wzrgirl1 » Sun Oct 03, 2004 9:20 pm

Well folks..........just drove from south florida to orlando for a weekend trip to Disney. Could not believe the damage!! Everyone had damage except for Disney itself. Almost like there was a bubble over it. Could not believe the amount of blue tarps I saw on top of people's homes. G-d bless. We were spared in my neck of the woods and I am oh so greatful after what I saw. All the billboards signs were blown away on the turnpike....the service plaza signs were all blown over........I won't even go into the tree damage I saw......and those poor homes. I am so sorry for those people.

Thank you for taking some of your money into the Orlando area. This is exactly what they need there. Tourist dollars spent in their economy.

My parents live north of Orlando in Cent. FL and were hit hard by Charley, Frances and Jeanne, but they're luckier than many, because their home is (for now) still habitable. They continue to deal with massive flooding, but we're praying that hiring pumper trucks on Friday to pump out 115,000 gallons from their yard they will be able to spare what's left of their battered home.

God bless the people in FL. They've certainly earned a rest and some blessings this year.

Having just gotten into the Orlando area for a technical conference on the Disney property, I can attest to the fact that things looked pretty wrecked in some areas. Some of the wooded areas still have trees leaning against other trees about ready to fall over. You could see a sea of blue tarps on approach into OIA. Most of Disney looks all right, from what I've seen. Just some damage to a lot of business signs from the drive down the Bee Line and onto I-4 to Disney.

I was going to post the same thing. Disney probably had the cleaning crews ready to go right after the storms cleared out.

The cleaning crews are kept "on property" during the storm and sent out the moment it's safe.
They're always on top of it.
Thanks, by the way, for coming to visit.

No problem. After I upgrade my Play 4 Days pass to an annual pass I will be there more often. I love that place!!
