Sure would not be surprising if we get one. This system is definitely working on becoming a TD IMO. However it forms, tropical or subtropical, it will be fighting the shear as it moves N and then NE and E. Still looks to be a coast hugger which could mean copious rains all along the W and N GOM coast the next several days. Aagain as others have stated there is also the possiblity of TS force winds with this disturbance along the immediate coast.

Upper TX coast possibly from Matagorda East and the LA coast is even more likely with the shear that will be forcing the majority of the convection to the NE and E of the center of circulation of the system. Another player in these possible winds is the pressure gradient that is setting up between the high to the East of us and the imcoming ULL to our West. Most likely areas to recieve these winds, if they materialize will be the upper TX and LA coasts.
