Yipes! where does that forecast come from? Is it trustworthy or is it from a lesser reputed model?

It' s not a model, it's a hand-drawn map put out by the Tropical Prediction Center (i.e., the NHC). I agree, we'll see Matthew out there by tomorrow afternoon, but a sheared hybrid system with the main cause of TS-force winds the strong pressure gradient between the weak low center and a large high center over the eastern U.S.

Hustionia... it comes from the TPC (tropical prediction center). Its basically a product to alert people where tropical cyclone formation is possible/probable in the next 36-48 hours. Its as trustworthy as any TWO.
