Updated Bermuda Weather Links

The Bermuda weather service has updated and added local radar and a webcam...could be useful with what is growing out in the Atlantic right now.

Radar is located on the east end of the island on a hill overlooking the airport and the webcam is in the same area.

This is a great thread with Bermuda weather observations and radar directly from the island.

Looks like it is about to bypass Bermuda to the west...

Bermuda Public Forecast
Issued at 4:30 pm - Saturday, 9th October, 2004

Headline - Wet and very windy evening...

Public Synopsis - Wet and windy conditions will continue this evening as a developing low-pressure system to our east-southeast approaches. Some clearing is expected overnight. This low center may acquire tropical or subtropical characteristics in the next day or two and continues to be closely monitored as it is expected to pass close to the island.

Tonight - Cloudy with widespread rain and showers. Chance thunder... Winds strong to gale force east-northeasterly, gusts to storm force possible, decreasing southeasterly moderate to strong overnight... Low near 69°.

Sunday - Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers... Winds moderate to strong southeasterly, veering south moderate to strong then west-southwesterly overnight... High near 80°.

Monday - Sunny breaks with a chance of showers... Winds moderate to strong west-southwesterly, veering north-northwesterly... Low near 70°, high near 79°.

Tuesday - Sunny periods with a chance of one or two brief showers... Winds moderate to strong north-northwesterly... Low near 70°, high near 80°.

Wednesday - Sunny periods... Winds moderate north-northwesterly... Low near 71°, high near 81°.

Yesterday's Climatological Data at Bermuda International Airport - Max: 81.5°F / 27.5°C. Min: 70.0°F / 21.1°C. Precipitation: 1.50 inches. Sunshine: 5.5 hours.

Total October rainfall to date... 1.51 inches.

Sea surface temperature: 79.6°F / 26.4°C.
