Matt done for?
Over the last few hours Matt's health has really gone downhill. There isnt convection anywhere near his COC. Even the convection that fired up earlier and was sheared NE is begining to dissipate. Unless he fires up soon, he's toast. Opinions anyone?

It's a hybrid and shear is stronger over the Northern Gulf, so, I don't see anything of substance for anybody to worry about in Louisiana or the Northern Gulf, for that matter. I just took my dog out for the "before bed relief," and it is quite windy in the City--enough to scatter small limbs on the street. I expect winds to increase some, but, bottom line---it's time for cooler weather, and nature is making the adjustments already. This tropical season is pretty much history as evident by pattern changes. We've had enough for 2004--wouldn't you all say???

Matt will "possibly" have one more last hurrah (convection build up) before landfall in the next 6 hours.

...and even though there's no projected FL landfall, it looks like the panhandle is gonna get thier share of some unwanted precip.
So, how many storms is it now that have affected the state of Florida to one extreme or another?
