Hope those tarps on people's roofs hold up. Looks to be a wet one.

No Doubt Joshua..

I was up in Charley land last friday and you cannot believe how many of the buildings still have those Blue Tarps on the roof. They must make those tarps biggie sized as some can cover the whole roof. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be wondering when the tarp is going to fail and when will the roof be fixed.. Fortunately we are entering the dry season..but in Florida we can get blasted from a good storm anytime of course..

Looks like one of those very few days down here in SW florida where you don't see the sun at all..12 hours without any direct rays from the sun does not happen to often. :D
I remember going weeks up north without direct sunlight..

Funny thing about cloudy days down here. Up north a cloudy rainy day can make one gloomy. Down here it is the opposite. A cloudy day allows you to go outside and work in the yard in the mid-day. The sun is nice, but it can be overbearing down here. It's a good day when you can work outside without having to come in from the heat.

In Central America they call summer "invierno". That means "winter". Summer is the monsoon season down there so the sun is obscured by the thunderstorms - making for a chance of cooling instead of the equatorial sun. The sun in Panama was so hot that you could feel it penetrating your head if you wore no hat.

We are under the cold tops, but there is only steady light to moderate rain. The front is drifting in very slowly. We needed the rain. We haven't had much since Charley out here...

My exact thoughts from this morning.

On another note, we have picked up a little over an inch of light/moderate rainfall. It's been going on/off throughout the day. Certainly not your typical Florida day...
