BOC is looking interesting again.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I must say the small blob in the BOC has been very
persistant in the BOC this morning and early afternoon.

The shear is pretty high over it. By the looks of those upper level clouds racing eastwards. But there seems to be a nice little MLC. Might be a small low pressure area...

There's a small vortex over Yucatan, but it looks like it is fading from overland friction. Could just be an incidental spin...

The TD in the Pacific is too close for any development in the Gulf or BOC.

And now Tropical storm Lester is close to the Mexican coast to have an effect in a negative way in the BOC.

The BOC and the GOM are unfavorable for anything as upper level winds are strong out of the west..hardly conducive for tropical cyclone formation. Typically the BOC spins up a storm or two in October and November but I would not be surprised to see a quiet late season there.

From what the local met said, we have a Canadian cold front coming down overnight.. He said once we start getting those, tropical development in the Gulf will be over... Maybe next year...
