WOO HOO! THINK I'M IN :)

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Tue Oct 12, 2004 11:04 am

Just got back from my Wal Mart interview..

I had to play a game of about 20 questions with the 2 managers lol.. I stressed to them how much of a dream job it would be for me to work there and they both smiled when they heard that..

I still don't "officially" have it.. But really I think I do.. They have already told me where I'd be working {believe it or not.. not the deli lol}

They have already told me what shift {2pm-11pm but it's only a 7 1/2 hour day because I get an 1 hr break and 2 15 min breaks}..

They also said they'd contact me when my background check cleared.. {which they warned could take as long as 10 days and they told me not to be discouraged if it takes that long}..

Now.. the all important question.. Where am I being placed..

Johnny's gonna be CART PUSHER lol.. I kinda like being outside so it's not a bad job.. and it's probably the easiest job in the store.. Plus I hear after 6 months I can transfer to a different position {someone even told me after 3 months.. but I'm not sure}

So now I'm playing a game of hurry up and wait lol.. I think I got it though.. what do you guys think..

They are desperate for help. Don't buy that scrutiny business, they need you more than you need them.

Get back to us in a couple of years...

It sounds as though you've definately got the job! I would've thought that they would only have given that much detail if they were really serious about hiring you. When I had a job interview a couple of months ago, they gave me all of those details and I found out a couple of days later that I had the job. I will most likely be the same with you.

So, CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D

Know you'll do great!

Thanks for the congrats guys.. Now it's just a wait and see if my friends phone gets a call from 1 of my would be bosses.. I think that'll come in the next couple days..

Tomorrow I'm just treating as a day of transition.. I may stay home.. or I may just find something to do that won't be that stressful since I hopefully will be working by the weekend..

Thank you BG..

I just talked to a friend of mine who used to work at a Wal Mart store..

He said that if they were NOT going to hire me.. they would not have even gone this far.. So It looks like then that I'm a shoe in for the job..

"They also said they'd contact me when my background check cleared"

I am assuming you are talking about the drug test they do on every potental associate?

And your friend was right...they only do those tests on people they plan on hiring. Only way you wont get this job is if you fail the drug test!!

Good luck! And Congrats!

I'm sure there's a drug screening in there somewhere. If it's not before you get the job, I'm sure within a few days of starting they'll ask you to go do one.
