1st Frost

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Wed Oct 13, 2004 9:20 am

If you haven't already had yours lol.. When do you predict you will see your 1st frost and freeze of the winter season..

Here I'm saying our 1st frost will be around Christmas Eve and our 1st freeze will probably be around December 31st..

Also.. here in Central Fla we do have at least 1-2 AM's in the winter where lows dip into the 20's..

I think we'll have a couple of those in Feb.

Sure, first frost at the very end of Octover/very early November sounds reasonable for northern Kentucky.

We had our first freeze up here...got down to the upper 20's! We've had a good 3-5 frosts already as well. Although the air mass coming through over the next couple of days will have it's origins in the Arctic, there will probably be too much wind and/or cloud cover to get lows back to the 20's. Instead, we may have highs in the 40's on Saturday w/ a few flurries during the morning/evening/overnight.

Not yet. In fact... our coldest morning of the season so far is expected to be tomorrow morning with a projected low of 46, then the same Saturday Morning.

First freeze is typically the first week of November.

Well, we haven't had a SoFla freeze since Christmas 1989. As for a frost, who knows, could happen, but it's an arbitrary date, at best. So I'll say January 19, which will mark the 28th anniversary of the day it snowed in West Palm Beach.
