Trade winds are back in eastern caribbean

The Trade winds are expected to turn
back to normal ... easterly winds will prevail for the next several
days


The above from the NWS in San Juan .

After many days with an abnormal wind pattern being light and from not the usual direction that normally they blow from the east from today the trade winds will be back to the northern eastern caribbean islands as the troughing pattern that haved dominated in the past 2 weeks now it will be a ridge that will be the dominant feature bringing the refershing trade winds that normally blow thru the islands.

Well not really today but by the weekend yes they will be back in full gear as the pattern changes slowly but the first change is the wind direction from the NE today but not moderate winds yet but light NE winds.

a weakening ... low level trough is located just south of the local
area this afternoon and extends several hundred miles east northeast
into the central north atlantic. the forecast is for this weather
feature to weaken even further ... to the point where it looses its
identity by friday. as this occurs ... high pressure from the surface
to upper levels will build over the northeast caribbean and a marked
drying trend will commence.

after shower activity dies down over the interior of puerto rico
late this afternoon or evening ... skies will gradually clear and only
isolated showers will be possible island wide. friday will feature
mostly sunny skies ... with little in the way of shower activity.
this fair weather pattern should continue into the weekend


Great weather with the trade winds and dry air will make the next few days very good ones for the islands.

it is still very calm here but we had some rain and all that haze has cleared out
It's a very bright day today
I'll look forwardd to some nice breezes this weekend :-)

This is an indication that dry and cooler air will spill into the northern caribbean islands cooling the waters and the effect is inhibiting any tropical development but still the SW caribbean is the place to watch in the next 2 weeks as it is the climo area favored this time of the year.

Welcome,the trades...Here also near 1 month without winds.And each day,the same scenario;fair mornings,thunder and rain in the afternoon,nights fair(like an equatorial pattern!!!
So;wee hope to smell the gentle breze ,sooner as possible.

I was sitting here enjoying the cool, clear (but fairly still) air this morning and literally, just as I started reading this post - the breeze picked up a bit and is now actually moving the curtains! Maybe there is more to this site than meets the eye :)

Today it was a great day in Puerto Rico with blue sunny skys,eastnortheast fresh breezes,low waves,low humidity which makes things more comfortable.It has been a long time maybe from early march that PR didn't see an spectacular day like this.
