Boca,

My idea for Florida is somewhat cooler than normal and wetter than normal. There could be some scattered frost this winter, though I do not expect severe and widespread freezes.

A cooler and wetter than average Winter (dry season) for florida appears to be in the cards. An article which appeared in the July s2k newsletter provides some insight into what this dry season may offer--and thus far seems to be on target w/ weak EL NINO conditions and a tendency for a -NAO.

It's a MUST read. Enjoy!

It does get down into the upper 20's and low 30's on some early mornings in January. Some times it doesn't even reach 50° on a winter afternoon... which is like being below freezing after temperatures not going below the low 70's during the morning and afternoon highs in the low to mid 90's with moderate to high humidity (dewpoint values) during the summer months.

Yep ... once in a while, it does happen ...

Hopefully, they can sneak a good freeze in there to KILL mosquitoes!

It feels like a storm is moving in when the media reports very cold tempreatures moving southward into northern and central Florida.

Of course, it only happens once, maybe two or even three times a year, but warms up into the 60's on most of those cold starts.
