Besides our featured tropical cyclones, we're monitoring a few invest systems.
Invest 98L
13.2N 47.6W (800mi E of Bridgetown, Barbados)
30 mph; 1009 mb / 29.80”
Dvorak estimates: Too weak
98L is a well spread out wave with limited convection. Upper-level winds do not favor development at this time.
Invest 91E
14.7N 114.0W (630mi SE of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico)
25 mph; 1005 mb / 29.68”
Dvorak estimates: Too weak
91E is associated with a broad area of low pressure. Development is not anticipated.
Invest 99W
12.0N 165.0E (515mi SSW of Wake Island)
15 mph; 1008 mb / 29.77”
Dvorak estimates: Too weak
Although a small system, 99W will be monitored. NRL just picked up this system, therefore the JTWC has not mentioned it on their bulletins. However, it has a chance at some development over the next few days.
Invest 92S
3.6S 49.0E (455mi WNW of Victoria, Seychelles)
15 mph; 1006 mb / 29.71”
Dvorak estimates: Too weak
92S, although close to the equator, is a fairly decent wave with good venting aloft and weak to moderate shear. Should this system drift southward and/or allow the shear to relax, this system has a chance for some development. However, its proximity to the coast of Africa may hinder development.
