still impressed by these maps. This is WAY above normal snowfall and looking back, there hasn't been this much snow at this time of the year for at LEAST 6 years. This could be a early warning sign of a hard with in the eastern plains, great lakes and eastward. Remember our (DKHWeather's) Unoffical winter outlook will be coming out October 31, so look out for that. A strong trough is developing in the west. Now people from the plains and eastward are probably thinking, warm winter. Well looking back, usually before a harsh winter for the plains and eastward, a warm-up happens in mid-late oct and lasts till early Nov.
So as we continue to research about this upcoming winter, were finding that the facts and signs are pointing toward a harsh winter in the eastern plains, great lakes and eastward.
Some people think nature can tell us some stuff. I agree. I noticed the other day that some trees are blooming flowers again, that usually bloom only once in the spring time. According to weather folklore, this means a very harsh winter coming.
