Congrats from this Cincinnati Reds fan as well! I was rooting for the Red Sox to win the AL Pennant!!! When they jumped ahead with such a big lead, that was sooooo comforting. You could almost relax.....looking at the dejected faces in the Yankee dugout helped though!

As I posted on the Sports Forum, I'm torn now. I faithfully, always root for the NL in the WS. That said, there's a part of me that wouldn't be too terribly upset if the Sox went all the way. That's of course, b/c the Reds are not playing them. LOL But after watching this playoff series with the Yankees, you just want the Sox to win! That's why I'm so torn.....my dad is up in Heaven shaking his head I'm sure - "now Mary dear, we always root for the National League!".

Mary, :)

I know the feeling, Wxbuddy! Always an NL fan here, too, when it comes to the World Series...let alone the All-Star Game...BUT...w/ the Boston Red Sox not having a World Series win since 1918 and since the Reds aren't there this year for the series...I may just go ahead and root for Boston! :D

Eric - I'm leaning that way too and can't believe I'm considering switching to the AL for the WS! Seriously, I could not pull this off if my dad was still with us - he'd never let me live that down!!! It would be like me switching to Coke after being a Pepsi addict for over 30 years now....LOL Or dying my hair blonde!!!

My Dad is an NL fan, too...he'll probably think I'm NUTS if I root for Boston...he's hoping St. Louis goes all the way...I want to see Houston (never having been in a World Series) be the NL representative in the WS!

Maybe I won't tell him about Boston and just secretly root for the Sox!! :D

Technically, the "Curse of the Bambino" is that Boston would never win a World Series ever again ...

BUT ... Boston's run against the Yankees was the SWEETEST thing I've ever seen in baseball! ... and IMHO, just as good ...
