Aurora alert!!!

#1 Postby senorpepr » Sat Oct 23, 2004 5:56 pm

There is a small chance that a coronal mass ejection (CME) will hit Earth's magnetic field on Oct. 24th and cause a geomagnetic storm. Sky watchers in Alaska and Canada should be alert for auroras. The CME was hurled into space by an M-class explosion near sunspot 687 on Oct. 22nd.
