can't believe what i heard about bill kamal
I just heard a story on the news that he was arrested for soliciting sex with a minor....the local news chief meteorologist for channel seven news. I know this is probably not the place to talk about it...but with a lot of south floridians out there who may wonder where he is.......locked up in a fort pierce jail as we speak.

I hope that is a false report...but if true...they better keep him in the clink for a long long time...and at least he should lose his job.
There have been reports in the past that he has an affinity for the bottle...actually heard that from a rival network employee.
Disturbing stuff. Which station is reporting that?

Here is a Miami Herald source:
WSVN's (Miami Weatherman) Kamal charged in sex case

A popular WSVN-Fox Channel 7 weatherman was arrested Sunday as part of a sexual predator investigation in St. Lucie County

South Florida television personality Bill Kamal was arrested in Fort Pierce Sunday as part of a federal investigation of alleged sexual predator activity, according to law enforcement officials.
The popular chief meteorologist for the WSVN-Fox affiliate is accused of arranging to have sex with a minor, sources said.
Kamal, 47, of Miami Beach was arrested in Florida's Treasure Coast at around 1 p.m., when he showed up for a scheduled meeting that he had arranged via the Internet with an underage person.
Instead, he was met by a detective who arrested him, a source said. At last check, Kamal was being held at St. Lucie County Jail on state charges. He is expected to make his first appearance on separate federal charges in U.S. court today.
U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement and St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, as well as the U.S. Attorney's Office in Miami, declined to comment on the arrest.
Nina Pruneda, spokeswoman for the immigration agency in Miami, confirmed only that St. Lucie County and federal agents arrested a person on Sunday afternoon who had been targeted by their sexual task force, Operation Predator, launched last year.
Pruneda refused to identify the person or define the charges.
Lily Pardo, a WSVN-Fox spokeswoman, said the station was unaware of the arrest and declined further comment.
''Until we have all the facts, we can't make a statement,'' she said. ''Even then, it is our policy not to comment on personnel matters.'' Kamal could not be reached for comment, and the station could not provide the name of his attorney.
It's not the first time Kamal has been in trouble.
Last November, the weatherman was arrested in Fort Lauderdale on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police say they saw him driving erratically in his black Jaguar.
Police stopped Kamal and called for a DUI investigator. Kamal failed a sobriety test and agreed to a breath test, which revealed .153 and .159 blood-alcohol levels, nearly twice the .08 legal limit. He was arrested and posted a $500 bond. The outcome of that case was unclear Sunday.
In 2000, he faced similar DUI charges when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper found his silver 1998 Corvette against a concrete barrier wall in the westbound lane of Interstate 595 near U.S. 1.
Those charges were reduced to reckless driving. Guillermo Peña, Kamal's attorney in the 2000 DUI arrest, also was unaware of his new arrest.
The popular meteorologist has been with WSVN-Fox 7 for a decade.
He went on the air more than 300 times during the recent series of hurricanes that hit South Florida this year.
''When the storm hits, I crash, because that's when my work is done,'' he told The Herald recently.

This is horrible!!! What would make someone with a great job, and a great trade do something comepletely stupid like this?
I am appauled that the station nor the network has come to help this person.
He has been there for many people when these storms over the years affected us, and now we hear he needs help, and no one is there to give a hand.
People that comit these types of crimes have a sickness, and to think alchoholism to top it all off. It's treatable, but the sex predator charges if true, is a mental problem that is unexcusable for someone of his position.
Shame it could happen!!!

Why would anyone want to give a SEX PREDATOR a hand, no matter how "helpful" he's been in the past by getting PAID a lot of money to DO A JOB? He belongs IN JAIL. For god's sake, he was enticing underage kids using the Internet! Nobody gets away with this kind of crap, whether they're priests or weathermen. And it's well documented that counseling does NOT help with child molestors, their recidivism rate is almost 100%. The only thing that works is to lock them up.

It seems some have taken my stance wrongly.
He needed help with his alchoholism. He needs jail for being a child predator. But could it have all stemmed from not getting the help he could have used years ago being an achoholic?
Who Knows!!!
Jial is the only place for people that threaten the safety of our children. I'm a father, but I tend to look at things in a logical way, not always negative.
IF this ever happened to one of my children, I would be the one in jail for murder. MY life is my children, and if anyone ever hurt them, may God have mercy on their soul!!!!
So lets no obscure the facts, where there aren't many. But just to be arrested as a predator, means his life as he knows it is OVER!!! And now our children are just a little bit safer!!!

at this point he would rather crawl into saddams rat hole and forget all this happened. so they found two condoms and two toys one of which was a squirt gun. That is about as strange as it gets.
