In Puerto Rico we observe that day entirely with all stores closed and offices and all churches are full that day.

Wouldn't be so bad, but Good Friday is a make-up school day b/c of the winter weather in February.

Over the past 51 years, I have always done my best to observe three hours of silence (1200-1500 hours) on Good Friday...and may I say that we have it backwards in celebrations here...Christmas shouldn't be the "biggie", but Easter...the Risen Christ, who took our burdens upon His shoulders, died, and rose again...as will we all.

HOORAY well said Bill!!!!!

I am sorry for you who have to work on Good Friday :( But I hope you have a really good easter weekend. Bonnie, I have only had crawfish once and that was in a resturant. I would love to buy some fresh and cook them myself, but I have no clue.

In our business...

#16 Postby azskyman » Fri Apr 11, 2003 4:34 pm

Unfortunately I may earn a nice chunk of time off every year as part of the perks...but I rarely get a holiday off.

If I weren't heading to California for Easter, I'd be working both Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Instead...because of my sins associated with skipping town on Easter, I will be working Memorial Day and the 4th of July this year.

Bummer...
