How many posts to stop being a tropical wave?

#1 Postby stormraiser » Fri Apr 11, 2003 1:36 pm

I see that I am still at tropical wave status. How many posts are necessary to get from one level to the next? I hate being the low boy on the totem pole :)

Hmmm...So your saying bfez1 that we are now back to the higher numbers again? I had thaught they were lowered to something more realistic.?
This is what was posted by mf_dolphin........

OK, I lowered the post requirements some As far as the other suggestion. We can't give a different weight to posts in one forum over the other. All posts count the same.

Tropical Low = 1
Tropical Wave = 100
Tropical Depression = 250
Tropical Storm = 500
Category 1 Hurricane = 1000
Category 2 Hurricane = 2500
Category 3 Hurricane = 5000
Category 4 Hurricane = 7500
Category 5 Hurricane = 10000

Anyways im not if what you said was a mistake but either way this is what i thaught was the postings.

Actually we (I) made a mistake when I set up the new ranks... OtherHD caught it and Chad corrected it for me!

A Tropical Wave has no circulation so it's the entry level. A Tropical Low is the next step up. This is the correct rank table :-)

Tropical Wave = 1
Tropical Low = 100
Tropical Depression = 250
Tropical Storm = 500
Category 1 Hurricane = 1000
Category 2 Hurricane = 2500
Category 3 Hurricane = 5000
Category 4 Hurricane = 7500
Category 5 Hurricane = 10000
