Winter for Southeast Texas?

#1 Postby Yankeegirl » Wed Oct 27, 2004 10:58 am

I just want to know... Does anyone here think that SE Texas (Houston area) might actually get a winter this year? I am really getting sick of these record highs we have been having this past week or so, and I am ready for some cooler weather! Just want to maybe look forward to turning on the heat, and giving the a/c a break!

From what I've seen and read this morning, Fall will return by Monday/Election day. The big trough in the west will finally erode the high enough to kick a front through here. Accuweather is showing mid 40's from Election day through the rest of the week for lows and boy do we deserve it!

I hope that Accuweather forecast is at least close to being right for the Dallas area. They have us with highs in the 60's from Tuesday on through day 15. Good gumbo weather.

Gumbo, YES! It's been too long since I've had a good gumbo because it's just not the same if it's hot outside. The best food comes in the winter...we get our gumbo and then crawfish in January!

^ I'm coming to whoever's serving gumbo at their house. :p

Yeh, we deserve cooler weather. My AC bill for October should be thru the roof, there's no reason for that. I'm sick of 90 degree weather.

Looks like Monday is the day the front will come through. Election day should be beautiful with clear skies and highs near 70. I'm so sick of this 90 degree weather, I know we're in the south but it's almost November for crying out loud!

I am tired of the hot weather also. I just hope that we do not get any bad weather with the front.
