Yes, I actually saw a single flash of lighting in the middle of the night lastnight followed by a boomer...amazing...and then another boomer once daylight broke...funny how these things amaze us, bc they are so rare here...unlike every other place I've lived!

Cappy!! Welcome to the PBS. It's the same ol' place with most of the same ol' folks. I used to crack up at you and Big Dave going back and forth. What did you guys call it ... drive-by something? Glad you're here.

Shannon - How about an update in the photo gallery in your flannels and bunny slippers? :D It doesn't sound much like So. CA weather. They're having near record heat back in LA. Don't you miss all that humidity and heat?

Hey Annette, I missed ya! I'm hoping to get back into hanging out here more, now that hurricane season has wound down. Oh that NWS tour was da bomb! That would be such a great road trip for us midwesterners to hook up with, maybe in St. Louis or Nashville ... with Bill, Mary, Jeremy, anyone, but of course Mr. Tornado himself, Garrett. :D Get some rest, girl! Tornado season is only 6 mos away!

CAPPY!!!!! GLAD YOU STOPPED IN TO SEE US!!!!! We miss ya!!!! Stop by more often!!

Some of us are still going back and forth between the PBS and the porch. I'll come in when we finally get the temps down below 70º. 90's just doesn't make it when the fire is burning!!!

Haven't seen Big Dave here in ages!!! Still can't figure out if you saw him or not from your post. Sounds like he wasn't there but was expected, maybe not in the best of shape???

Donna, I am insanely jealous of your tour!! I can't even get the guy who does our Skywarn classes to answer my emails, much less give a tour. :grr:

Anyways, gotta act like I work so I'll check ya later.

Peace and Grace.

Welcome, Cappy! Big Dave was around, last
winter, and, if my poor memory serves me right,
he had a new CD out...??? Anyway, DO stop in
and visit with us, often - this may be the PBS,
but, a few of us still insist that the screen door be
left open! ;)

Donna, that road trip would be great! I do
look forward to twister season, though, one of
my friends in Hohenwald, 20 miles to the west,
sent me a pic of a wall cloud over their house,
just two nights ago! NWS never issued an
official warning, but, it was enough to get
everyone's immediate attention! It disappated
before the warning was issued - LOL, I told her
that it was such in the day of a spotter....;)

Ya'll have a good night - tomorrow is TGIF!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome, guys. It's good to be here.

It's not such a nice day in The Susquehanna Valley today. The temp is about 68° with a light rain falling.

I guess I'll stop in at TWC sometimes, too, but I think I needed a change of atmosphere.

Yeah, Dave and his band, put out a new CD. I got a copy and, well...don't tell Dave I said this, but,...... It's really good! I gues he's too busy now being a big star so he doesn't have time to visit much.

I hope the weather is going to cooperate next weekend. The Mrs and I are going to NYC for the weekend, just for a little mini-vacation. We'll go up on Friday and back on Sunday. We'll get tickets for a show at TKTS and have a couple nice dinners. And who knows what else? We like to get away for weekends every now and then.

The last time we were away in a hotel, I had to send a FAX from the hotel. so I went down to the main desk They said it would cost $7.50 for the first page, then $1.00 for each of the other pages. So I said,' Fine, just don't send the first page."

Gotta go; But remember what Mae West said: "I used to be pure as snow, but I drifted." Cappy 8-)

I wish I could run over to NYC like that for the weekend!! That sounds like a blast. When I was there for the Carnegie Hall gig in Apr. 2002, we went to TKTS and got Chicago tickets. LOVED IT!! would love to go back again, but it doesn't look like it will be soon. Have a great time Cappy!!!

Hey, tell big Dave to get down off his high course and come in here and visit once in a while.

Raining right now here in Houston metro. We need it too. Looks like it is just a precursor to the real thing on Monday. finally will get back to normal fall weather for a few days. should be nice weather election day here. EVERYONE MAKE SURE YOU GET OUR AND VOTE AND VOTE RIGHT(sorry, I couldn't resist). Above all be sure you have a say and do get out and vote no matter who you vote for.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

Hi everyone! I have'nt been around the PBS much. Sorry! It's a rainy saturday here. Going to shampoo the rugs today! so says my wife! Yes, I feel a chill coming on. Maybe I'm getting that virus that's going around.

I was wondering... Dennis broke his arm? How'd that happen? Sheesh, the poor guy has his share of bad luck, doesn't he?

I saw cappy above. Is that the same person that used to come around the PBS at TWC? Didn't he have a different name then? Sheesh, mentioning Big Dave. That's a blast from the past! Dave came around to plug his CD then he disappeared again. I'd like to hear from him again.

Well, if anyone could fill me in on the above, I'd appreciate it.

BTY, The corner store was having a special on donuts. I picked up a couple dozen, and I'll leave them here.....

Thanks, skywatch.

I was thinking of the poster formerly known as Capman, I think. Are they one and the same?

Brrrrrrrrrr....its so cold here! We went playing in the snow today at a local ski resort...what fun! Brought some home in the cooler and stuck it in the freezer...for when I get "snow sick" next time...lol Actually, the kids want to throw snowballs as their friends come up to go trick or treating...a snowball in the valley is quite a trick! :) Hope everyone is doing well...talk to you soon...and Happy Hauntings!

I'll take a nice round glazed KK over here please and thank you! :)

*yum*

Chilly tonight. Last night my digital thermometer recorded a low of 46 degrees. Brr, too cold for me. Good thing I had it closed up all night or else I would have been freezing cold in here. Already down in the low 50s as of last check.

Spoeaking of cold, I seem to have a bit of a stuffy nose. :( Hoping it's just allergies and nothing more.

80°F here, today! But, looks like a front is
moving through, tomorrow, with the promise
of MUCH cooler air - I'll be here, stoking the fire,
I suspect! Temps look to get quite cooler, after
tomorrow's rain moves through.

Furry, you and Josh better do your Vitamin C!
Gosh, Southern CA? Cold? The times, they ARE
a'changin'! ;)

Bundle up Annette, Josh, and Furry. The weather it is a changin. I heard the forecast for Mexico City: Chile today and hot tamale.

We had a beautiful day Sunday and today. High in the low 60's and mostly sunny.

Since we turned the clocks back, nice weather doesn't matter anymore. It's dark when it's time to go home from work. GRRRR.

Only weekends count now until April. GRRRR

On Sunday I got a bonus bike ride. Probably not many opportunities left, with the weather and all, but I reached 1100 miles for the season - best since I got married and had kids! Hoping to top that next year. One of my buddies is 59 and rides like the wind. He's an inspiration and a reminder that I'm not over the hill yet at 45.

Sorry Furry, I thought you knew. This deefinitely isn't tropical weather out here, not by a long shot.

We had the Santa Ana winds today as you might have heard, it was rather breezy for most of the day. Still going at this late hour but they should pick back up again overnight.

Yeah, I went out and bought slipper socks with little kitties on the toes lastnight, bc I refuse to use the heat! (and its cold!) Bought tons of cold meds, had a good nights sleep, rested up only to get worn out today watching the election...lol So, I'll be curled up on the couch in front of the fireplace, with my blankey and warm sockies...sipping warm cider, praying for our countries future, and hoping to kick this darn cold! I wanna be well enough to snowboard on Sat...or should I say "try" to snowboard on Sat...I'm sure I'll be in the snow more than on top of it...

Josh, do you ever go up to the local ski resorts?

No, actually I have never snowboarded or skiied at all. I have only been in the snow twice that I can recall, once in 6th grade science camp (we got snowed in on our last day there  ) and once when we went camping (it was like 20° at night  ).
