"Beware of ICE!"

#1 Postby azsnowman » Fri Oct 29, 2004 5:11 pm

WELL folks, I'm pecking at the keyboard at the moment, probably will for the next 6 weeks.......after living in the mountains for 38+ years, walking on ice, skiing etc, I've fallen NUMEROUS times but NOT like this mornings fall . I was walking down a flight of stairs off our back deck, ice covered of course after 3" of snow last night, I took a tumble and BROKE my right arm  Im right handed, SO......there's a HUGE problem, let's just say......um, I can't say it here lol! It's off for another pain pill and lay down, after 6hours in teh ER.... :grr:

Dennis

Bummer Dennis. I broke my arm two years ago, way up by the ball and socket. It just hung there. Creepy. My prominant arm too. Makes for a very stickey situation. My ex hubby came to stay with me. Dressed me, showered me, and every thing else. What a good man. He made it easy for me. Hardest part was sleeping upright in a chair for 2 weeks. Good luck, oh, and do the thearpy. Hurts, but you get full range of movement back.

Take care,
Denise

Dennis, I am praying that you will heal rapidly. Try doing some things with your left hand to get used to using the left hand to do everyday tasks. A broken bone is always painful whether it is your arm or your toe(I broke the number 3 toe on left foot many years ago), pain is pain no matter where it originates.

Hey Dennis, sorry for jumping on this late. Now you have an excuse to take it easy for a while. MICHELLE, WHERE'S THAT BEER!

Get better fast, bud, it isn't like you to do nothing for long.

Hey Dennis...sorry to hear about the accident. Kathy can tell you a story about winter ice and broken arms. Christmas Eve about 15 years ago I think it was.

Take care and BE CAREFUL while in the healing process. The 10" of snow in Flagstaff a few days ago probably means the real thing could happen this winter!!!

You have my sympathy, I slipped on icy steps and busted my knee cap 2 years ago. Windsong is right, when it is time, DO THE THERAPY. It is the most important thing. Imagine the things you still want to be able to do and it will get you the motivation you need to do the things the physical therapist tells you to do. The physical therapy really does work!!!!
