Your least favorite food

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sun Apr 13, 2003 10:47 am

Mine has to be *meatloaf*. Growing up in the 60's, times were tough, my parents both worked to support the family, God Bless their souls, they did everything in their power to see that us kids were well fed and clothed. My moms favorite meal was *meatloaf*, she used oatmeal to stretch the meat even further "BLEECK!" THEN, the Navy served this *meatloaf* that was the same color as the SHIP, *GREY* YUUUUUCK!!!!! Ya know the kind, with tons of grease floating on the top, drowned in ketchup!!!!

My second least favorite meal is Hamburger Helper :P When I was married for the 1st time, that's all we could afford, buy 2 lbs of burger, 2 boxes of HB Helper and make it stretch for 4 meals "RALPH!" Awww man, I've just ruined my appetite for the whole day "LOL!"

Stewed Tomatoes. My mom would make it with home canned tomatoes, onions, white bread and sugar. I was raised to eat everything on my plate and couldn't get up til it was gone. I can remember sitting for hours trying to get up the nerve to put this stuff passed my lips. I still get nauseous thinking about it. Hours would go by. Then she threatened to reheat it for breakfast, so I had to swallow hard and eat the stuff. Blech!!!!!!!!

What I absolutely hate is Liver and beets. I love most vegetables - since I raise so many in my garden.

This is really hard for me cause I basically love food.
All I can think of off hand is lime green jello and bleu cheese dressing.

At the top of the list would be onions. :18:
Then next would be liver!
Peas
Lima beans or any beans except greens beans which i do like.
Brussel sprouts which are the stinkiest as well!
Grapefruit
Any kind of plain pepper allthough i do use them in some recipes for flavor.
I could add a bit more but these are at the top.

Marshall, Marshall tsk, tsk.......NO VEGGIES what so ever? Funny, growing up I HATED any kind of veggies, now, I eat my weight in veggies. OH, one more to the list of foods I dislike, ANY Form of frozen, prepared dinners, tv dinners, pot pies etc. I LOVE to cook, can't you tell by my photo "LOL!" Last year when we were bringing in this new house, we stayed at a friends house that is still under construction, SOOOOO everything we had to eat had to be frozen and microwavable "YUCK!"

No, I'll take that back, I "DO" love pizza, Di Gorino (sp) Tombstone but THAT'S it. My ex wife couldn't boil a pan of water without burning it and seeings how I was still in the grocery business and working 6.5 days a week, I couldn't cook and she had to do all the cooking (If you want to call opening a tv dinner and putting it in the oven!)

This is soooo easy......

LIVER & ONIONS!

This was my dad's favorite meal.....don't ask me why.....but it was a treat when I'd fix it for him (my parents divorced when I was a teen and I stayed with my dad). So here I'd be fixing this - uh hum, God awful food and gagging - and Dad would be smiling. But hey, I do think he was quite willing to give me the car next time I asked! :)

SF - I have a great brocolli casserole you make with Swiss Cheese. Yummy - you want it?

Sorry, couldn't resist. You don't even like peas or corn? When I was a kid my mom could not get me to eat veggies. I would only tolerate peas and corn. That was it. Now I like them all I do believe. Funny how that happens. :)

*LOL* Miss Mary ...
If this sinus infection I have gets any worse, I may not be able to eat much of anything ... and it's bad enough that I lost 8 pounds last month! ... (and no diet, either ... just a two week period of loss of appetite.)
