5 inches of rain since midnight, not counting what we got yesterday and it's still raining. It looks like a lake outside.

I wish I was at my aunt's house in Midland TX. That's all SNOW!! she has 5 inches already and expecting another 1 to 3 inches before it moves out. :froze: :jacket:

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
1220 PM CST TUE NOV 2 2004


.UPDATE...
WILL DO A QUICK AMENDMENT TO THE FORECAST TO LOWER POPS FURTHER FOR
THIS AFTN. RAIN SHIELD HAS EXITED CWA. SUBSIDENCE WILL PREVENT MUCH
ADDITIONAL PRECIP FROM OCCURRING. PATCHY LIGHT RAIN OR DRIZZLE
POSSIBLE MAINLY OVER THE NORTH. 35

.DISCUSSION...
COLD FRONT AND ASSOCIATED MCS ARE MOVING ACROSS OUR COASTAL WATERS
THIS MORNING. RAIN HAS ENDED OVER MOST OF SE TX EXCEPT OVER OUR FAR
EASTERN AREAS WHERE SOME MODERATE RAIN WAS STILL FALLING. THE REAL
PUSH OF DRIER AIR WAS JUST NOW ENTERING OUR WESTERN ZONES WHERE
DEWPOINTS ARE BEGINNING TO DROP INTO THE 50S. THIS DRIER AIR WILL
SLOWLY SPREAD ACROSS SE TX THIS AFTN.

THE COASTAL COUNTIES...SOUTHEAST HARRIS (CLEAR LAKE AND PASADENA
AREAS) AND SOUTHERN LIBERTY COUNTIES SAW 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN
OVERNIGHT WITH AROUND 6 INCHES IN A COUPLE OF SPOTS. SINCE SUNDAY
NIGHT...MOST AREAS EAST OF HIGHWAY 59 HAVE SEEN 3 TO 6 INCHES OF
RAINFALL...WITH UP TO 8 INCHES AT ISOLATED LOCATIONS IN THE COASTAL
COUNTIES.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS CONTINUE UNTIL 10AM FOR LIBERTY/CHAMBERS
COUNTIES BUT SHOULD BE ABLE TO LET THESE GO WHEN THEY EXPIRE. THREAT
FOR HEAVY RAINFALL HAS ENDED TODAY SO WILL UPDATE THE FORECAST TO
CANCEL THE FLOOD WATCH OVER THE AREA. WITH UPPER LOW STILL OFF TO
THE WEST...WILL SEE SOME PATCHY -RA OCCUR ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTN
WITH THE BEST CHANCE OVER THE NRN ZONES. HOWEVER...WILL LOWER POPS
CONSIDERABLY DOWN TO CHANCE CATEGORY. CLOUDS WILL HANG IN TOUGH THIS
AFTN SO EXPECT LITTLE CHANGE IN TEMPS FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. North wind around 15 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high around 66. Northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low near 45. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high around 71. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Friday: Partly cloudy, with a high around 68.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high around 69.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low near 51.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53.
