Both the US and UK are beginning "joint patrols" with locals...in Basrah, it's unarmed civilians with UK/Australian soldiers; in Baghdad, it's pre-war police, unarmed with a US soldier/Marine.

Several countries have already answered our call for police troops, including Canada (?); the US is also sending 1200 MPs over (many from Missouri NG, BTW).

More on "looting"...this is traditionally Arabic, as the defeated always forfeit their posessions to the victors (or in this case, the formerly oppressed). We should not be surprised...this is "normal operating procedure" for Islamic peoples.

For clarification, Iraq is 8 hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone and 10 hours ahead of M2 in Arizona (in the Mountain Time Zone). :)

 Technically, this cut is from the Band's First Album. At the time,in '68-'69 they were known as 'Chicago Transit Authority',named for same, who demanded the quasi long hairs to change the name,or a suit would ensue.
Hence, they subsequently shortened it to simply:"Chicago".

Yes, indeed. :D I saw the "winky." Sorry for making an issue out of it. However, I appreciate the one on one interaction at 3:03 AM here. 8)

So, you (M2 and DJ) are in Arizona, at least a portion of the state that doesn't change the clock in early April (last weekend) and late October?

No Time Change Here

#32 Postby M2 » Mon Apr 14, 2003 2:10 am

Actually Tom, most of AZ does not change at all, only a few spots on the Reservations go to Daylight Savings. The theory is that no one wants more hours of sunlight during the summer when it's 118+ in the shade, and in Phoenix it will not cool off below 100 during the nights during the hottest months. So we all reserve our activities to nighttime - or tough it out during the day on the 115+ degree golf courses with lots of H20....running from tree to tree....or is that tee to tee.... :D 8)

I apologize for going off-topic. After all it is 3:13 AM Eastern Time. Actually, it wasn't only me, it was my friends in Arizona, too. :D

That's true. I vividly remember hearing over the years that most of Arizona doesn't 'observe' Daylight Saving Time. Same goes for parts of Indiana and if I am not mistaken the entire state of Hawaii.

Don't apologize, we all go off-topic late at night....because we can :ggreen:
And any place in the South Pacific sounds good after all this Iraqi talk - Tahiti would be my vote. A little time baking on the white beach of Bora Bora with a cold Mai Tai or CocoPino...snorkeling the reefs...finding all the southern Hemi constellations....and getting that nice tropical Tan.... now THAT's a vacation. When do we leave??

Waaaaay tooo much sugar - try the yellow packets. No such thing as a cafe mocha latte since latte is steamed milk w/chocolate and cafe mocha is expresso based. ??Oreo doesn't make a 'double creme peanut butter chocolate' combo thing.... You need more sleep. Don't fly in your condition or you'll end up in Mt. Shasta looking for Say Cheese pizza.
