You know its getting close to winter when...

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Nov 07, 2004 1:10 pm

-you have extreme egg nog cravings
-all your forecasted lows are in the 30's
-some lows are even in the 20's
-no 70's or 60's are in the forecast
-you smell smoke in the air when you go outside
-christmas songs start coming into your head (AND WONT GET OUT)
-stores start putting up christmas decorations
-you get really happy at the slightest mention of snow in your forecast (at least I do.....)

Feel free to add!

-there are as many ski brochures in your mailbox as there are christmas catalogs!
-you have to make sure you empty the rain gauge so it doesn't freeze and crack....again.

Alright folks, I am starting to get excited about the -NAO!!!!

You know winter's getting it on when:

Forecasted temps are 47/26 and the normal temps are supposed to be 61/37

The sky looks like snow

You can't stop thinking of the -NAO

You're praying for a record snow year in Northern Virginia

You're blasting all the songs that remind you of Big Dog snows in the past

I'll add more................. :)

-Yeah old Jeb is back!! :) BRING IT!!!!

You KNOW it's getting close to Christmas (and winter) when your postal facility that you work at is so full of Christmas Catalogs, it's like walking through a labrynith ...

Christmas stamps are already on sale ...

You also know it's getting close when temperatures finally fall enough to wear leather and be comfortable ...
