A few N. Texas car dealers have gone hail crazy!

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Mon Apr 14, 2003 7:52 am

On April 5th, a hailstorm has slammed the northern portion of DFW, damaging some cars, but the only advantage is that they're having a "Hail Sale"! The prices on the hail-damaged cars were slashed to like $5,000!

Well, like what my mom said to me yesterday, if a car is damaged in any way, the value degrades.

After a severe weather outbreak on Tuesday, July 6th, 1999 in southeastern Massachusetts, large hail damaged cars at a dealership in Brockton, Massachusetts... they had a "hail sale" for a number of weeks. The temperatures before the cold front moved through were in the upper 90s to 100, even 102 in some locations. There were actually some Tornado Warnings issued in the county I lived in.

The car dealers were able to claim the damage to the cars against their insurance so I doubt if they hurt at all. I would be willing to bet that actually make out in an event like this :-)

we had a that same situation when we had hail come through on the massive June 2001 thunderstorms. Bergstrom Car Dealerships slashed prices to make the June 2000 care sale go even better (every June Bergstrom Car Dealerships try to see 2000 cars...Hence the name June 2000)

the hail storm or Bergstrom Car Dealerships???

Believe me...you'd rather have the hail storm. The Bergstrom family is infamous around the Valley area. That family owns practically everything! Most of the ownership belongs to car dealerships, but there are 3 Bergstrom buildings in Downtown Neenah, that I just happen to see when I am at work (Neenah-Menasha Y is just a block away!) They have family feud's to sell the most cars in the shortest amount of time. Dealership row in Neenah is filled covered with the Bergstrom name! Bergstrom this, Bergstrom that! Even the Valley Saturn dealerships are owned by Bergstrom!
