At this moment, I would say Syria. If they are harboring Saddams top notch "people" and if we believe they have chemical weapons and we are right there I say they are our next concern. JMO 8)

N.Korea...

Syria will play the game. If we push, they will break slowly. N.K. on the other hand, if we push they will try to blow someone up!

i said north korea. and they are only a small threat. they are not stupid enough to attack us. last time we did this iraq was our biggest threat...and they never did anything to us either. good thing our "threats" are only small weak countries.

I have to agree North Korea. Syria is and has been a threat to stability in the Mid-East.

There is a very real potential in Iran of major upheaval. The religious leaders don't have nearly the amount of control that they once did and there is growing discontent in the country. Iran once enjoyed the western life style even though the Shah ruled with an iron fist.

I agree on that Marshall on Iran but for now NK is the biggest threat and I can say that Iran is a close second if they start that plant to enrich uranimun we will be at the same situation as North Korea. :grrr:

I wrote "None of the Above", and here's why...NK, Syria and Iran ARE major "headaches", but it's the "enablers" behind the scenes...Russia, China, and to a lesser extent France, Germany and Sweden that should be scrutinized all the more carefully.

I chose North Korea, but Syria bears watching, bordering Iraq and the current situation. I haven't heard much about Iran.

Although I chose NK, I still feel that we can't put this situation on the back burner.

North Korea, definitely. Syria is one of those countries that just isn't really a threat.

As far as Russia, France, et al, they aren't threats. They might be annoying and we might disagree, but they aren't threats.

Well i picked N.Korea for obvious reasons.......Which i sure hope we dont have to go there seeing how my 21yr cousin is heading there this week for a year.....She is in the Air Force by the way......But speaking in near terms i think we need to deal with Syria and what they may or may not be up to plus our forces are already there as it is......I presonally think they are hiding a bit from us as i stated in the other thread related to Syria.......

I chose North Korea, too. They've been making an awful lot of noise lately regarding their nuclear weapons program, and I think they pose a real serious threat to the US and other countries surrounding them. They are definitely one to watch. :?

The GREATEST Threat to the US?

#14 Postby Aslkahuna » Tue Apr 15, 2003 1:28 pm

WE Are! We have many societal problems that really need to be addressed if we are to maintain ourselves for any reasonable length of time beyond our lifetimes. The second greatest threat is China-not immediately perhaps but eventually since it is their goal to become preeminent. North Korea is a threat for two reasons-first their leader is a total nut case and secondly China and Russia are showing no inclination to rein him in which shows where their true purposes lie.

I voted None of the above for all of those reasons.

So what are you saying JQ... we only pick on the countries we KNOW we can whip? That is not what we do.

I voted N Korea, because the tyrant of that country is capable of launching a strike on the United States.
