Well, we entered, sat down in a booth, and ordered our lunch. After dining, I ask the waitress for my check. To my astonishment, she said "that's already been taken care of sir". Shocked, I asked who paid?..why?...and she said our bill was paid for by a middle aged couple who were sitting close by, but had left the restaurant over 20 minutes earlier. The waitress said the man just pointed toward our booth and said "pay for their lunch along with mine" as he smiled and handed her two twenties.
These were total strangers to me....a couple that neither my grandmother or I had never seen in our lives. For whatever reason....early Christmas holiday spirit, kindness in their heart toward elderly folks (Granny's on a walker, aunt Millie totally blind), or just to be nice, these folks paid for our meal that probably cost $15 or more.
Needless to say, I'm both stunned and very humbled by the experience. I've always tried to do the right thing...and have done my share of good deeds over the years...especially for ladies, the elderly, and children; but never paid for anyone's meal (at least not total strangers). Since I have no way of knowing who these nice folks were to thank them, the best way to thank them is to pass their kindness along.....and let my little light for Christ shine by bestowing the same gesture of kindness on someone else.
There are still kind people with good hearts among us who do good deeds for others, even strangers, just to be nice....with no strings attached. What my grandmother, great aunt, and I experienced today is living proof

). Well to make a long story short, he gave them to me and said "Here, they are yours now. You can keep them no matter what value they have left on them. 
And I didn't do anything to earn them!
